David Hancox was born in Stratford upon Avon and brought up in Binton. He attended Alcester Grammar School where he met his wife Jean.
David has lived in Alcester for 40 years, having moved from Solihull. David and Jean have two children: Mark who is married with two sons and lives in Leicestershire, and Alice who is a student at Hull University.
David is a retired police officer, and is involved with several organisations in Alcester, including Alcester in Bloom, St Nicholas Church (former Church Warden), Alcester Town Hall Committee and Alcester Rotary Club.
David's hobbies include anything to do with railways, and says what he likes most about Alcester is the strong caring community. David has been Mayor of Alcester, Church Warden of St Nicholas and Chair of the Scout Group.
David says he joined Alcester Town Council to serve the community and help make Alcester a good place to live.
David serves on the committees of Community and Planning.
