I have lived in Alcester since 2007 with my wife Kathrin and our young family. Working as a freelance Project Manager, I am currently based at the University of Oxford. Although I grew up in nearby Redditch, I spent 20 years living in London before moving back to the area. Two of our children attend a local school where I am also a Parent Governor serving as Chair of the Finance Committee.
I have been a member of the Alcester Town Council since May 2015 and sit on the Community Care and Planning Committees. I also chair the Community Safety Group which formulates the Town Council’s approach to emergency planning, road safety and flooding. Part of my work includes coordination and training of the town’s Speed Awareness Voluntary Group and Flood Wardens and liaising with other relevant agencies.
Outside of my work for the Town Council I am a keen cricketer and member of the coaching team for the thriving junior section of Alcester and Ragley Park Cricket Club. I have a keen interest in issues affecting young people in our town and serve as a Trustee of the Warwickshire Young Carers’ Project which works to improve the lives of young carers from 8 and upwards across the county. This includes giving young carers the opportunity to make contact with other agencies, support their educational needs and meet new friends.
One of my motivations for joining the Town Council was the maintenance of important facilities in Alcester and to that end I serve as a Trustee of the Alcester War Memorial Town Hall supporting the recent refurbishments and projects that have taken place.
