Yvette was elected as Deputy Mayor in May 2016

I was born in Birmingham and have lived in Alcester for the past 20 years, enjoying the strong sense of community spirit and many events held throughout the year. I joined the Council to contribute back into the town and help it continue to be a delightful place to live. I am married to Paul and have one daughter Annie. I’m self-employed in an Office Furniture Business and prior to that was an International Service Manager within a large Global organisation.

I joined the Council in May 2011 and one of my first activities was to develop the Town Council communication systems which included updating the website and introducing the Facebook page. I also took on the role of editor for the quarterly newsletter which is delivered to all residents within Alcester. This term I am chairing the newly formed Communication Committee whose aim is to analyse, improve and develop communication issues/channels and engage with the community. Our aim for this term will be to continue to advance communications both within the Town Council and externally to our residents.

I am also a member of both the Strategic Planning and Community Facilities Committees and as my role within the Facilities Committee I also Chair the Jubilee Centre group. The group works with the current users of the Jubilee Centre to manage the bookings and raise funds to continually improve the building, such as by installing air conditioning throughout, ensuring Alcester continues to have an enviable Community Facility.
