Following the disappointment of the decision by Stratford District Council not to contest the Alimore Lane planning application we have been busy formulating our response. There is, as always, a process you need to follow. This involves submitting a statement of case to the inspector which is an overview of the points we wish to raise, followed later by the full details. The hearing is scheduled for the end of November.

Friday saw the funeral of Jim Adams. Jim was an amazing character, always on the go with a big heart. He obviously loved his family and our thoughts go out to them, especially Sue who looked after Jim for many years. The church was packed for his service and there were some rousing hymns to send him off to. I felt the the eulogy Mike Gittus did was excellent and summed up Jim’s life very well. The town will miss him especially the daffodils on Mothers day and his call at the remembrance parade.

Sunday was the Alcester Town Council Civic Service. This annual event is where we invite civic dignitaries from the region and also many of the heads from the community to thank them for all their efforts over the year. Alcester was very proud to host many such heads including The Lord Mayor of Coventry, chairmen of council and many mayors. It was an excellent service and showed Alcester off to its best. A day to be proud of.

There is no full council this week due to the mop, so it will be held next Tuesday. I look forward to seeing you there.
