I am a semi-retired Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Transport Safety (see my profile here). I joined the Council in 2011, over concerns about the Greig Hall, and have worked tirelessly on Council business ever since.
I was appointed Mayor in May 2015 and enjoyed my year serving the Community. Last year I was Chair of the Planning Committee and assisted the work on the Alcester Neighbourhood Plan as Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee. I am also a member of the Community Care committee, the Greig Hall working group, a Trustee/Clerk of the Newport’s School Foundation, a member of Alcester Neighbourhood Watch. I also represent ATC on the Warwickshire Association of Local Councils (WALC) and from there I have been appointed to the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
