Councillor Mark Cargill

I have lived in Alcester all of my life, am a time-served apprentice and have travelled the world in pursuit of my career. I was an officer in the merchant navy for 11 years and latterly spent over 25 years in the water industry, designing and building water and waste water treatment plants.

I am now retired which allows me to devote as much time and energy as needed to support the communities I represent.

I am currently an Alcester Town and Stratford District  Councillor having served for over 9 years now. I was Mayor of Alcester in 2013/14.

I am a member of a number committees in Stratford on Avon and Alcester including:

Stratford on Avon :- Chair of the Council and portfolio holder for Transformation, Infrastructure, Corporate Strategy

Alcester :- Planning (Vice Chair), Greig Working Group (Chair)

I am married to Kathryn and have a daughter, Lyndsey.
